Reading

WALT: ask questions as we read to make sure we understand what we read.

Tom, your reading does sound right, you use your fix up strategies to help with new and tricky words. You can use prediction as a strategy to help you to 'tune in' to what you are going to read and this is helping you to better understand the text. You are also beginning to use questioning to help understand what you are reading. Remember to ask questions before you read and to keep thinking about and recording your wonderings.Kerri

Tom, you are a fabulous team member and you always try your best in a team. You can listen to the ideas of others and share your own ideas. Remember that sometimes compromise is the secret to success. You look out for people who are hurt, classmates and your little buddy…you make a fantastic big buddy helping Keira with her learning.

We have been creating a variety of art pieces this term. These pieces are all about ourselves and sharing our stories. We have used different media like collage, watercolour, crayon and clay to create our art. We are beginning to make choices as artists. Each piece of art shares a little about us.

Tom, you have experimented with all the different media we have used this term and have created some beautiful pieces.     We are on the path to becoming self directed learners in Adventure 9. This means we are beginning to make choices that help us grow as learners. We know what we are learning and what we need to do to get better.
